"ICE Cubed Trees" System

Hiii all

I came up with this idea "Ice Cubed Trees System" that will please the farmers of The Fickilians.

First I will talk about the Ice cubes and from where they come from:

- these special ice cubes are taken from a far far away place where you find all kinds of rocks and mountains that are all made of ice.
- Every year The Fickilians must go to this place in order to gather as much ice as they could. (quantity that would be enough for them for a whole year).
- In order to go to this place The Fickilians form a specialized group in skiing and then send them there.
-The dangers of this place are:
*waking up the big boss of the big ice mountains.
*Maximum time spent there wont exceed 3 days or else..... { The Fickilians never knew what happened to the ones who never got back }

and now i will talk about the system and how it works:

- Once the Ice is available to the farmers, the farmers community get all together to choose "The Farmer of All Farmers". The chosen Fickilian will be the one in control of all the farmers who are going to work on the "ice cubed trees system". Farmers who wont agree to work with this system and prefer to stay working with the traditional way of watering trees will be sent to the Big Boss of Big Ice Mountains.
-After shaping all the available ice into ice cubes they then place them over all trees that need watering. The cubes start to melt once "The Farmer of All Famers" wish to push the "melting process button", He controls when the cubes melt and by this way he is controling the amount of water given to each tree everytime.

This is just a concept. a detailed version (an improved version) of this concept will drawn soon.

The Evolving Id Project (phase 1)

(Here Are some photographs of "The Evolving Id" Sept-Dec book version)

This book is a documentation of my current sculpture based project "The Evolving Id". It covers the process from 14th Sept till 16th Dec 2008, which includes imagery on morphing a toy horse into a hyena. As we know Hyena’s symbolize immortality, the reversal of normal activities, well known for their dirty habits and many other negative traits. In this project I am portraying this dirty animal in a different way by giving it a different nature, the hyena statue will then evolve into a well-respected, cherished figure. The Id is the part of us that is unconscious; following our Id may lead us to do terrible, unacceptable things. I relate the Id to animals because both of them are uncontrollable.

(Here are some other photos of the work produced for my academic assessment)

Lets Not forget The 40 seconds Video of a 4 months work.

The Process
This project required 4 months to reach this stage. It is important that I take my time producing my artwork as It helps me develop new ideas and find more opportunities to rethink and determine what my work is all about. It’s also the nature of the process that takes time to be done especially if it’s a new medium I have to work with. I did not work continuously on this specific project; I gave it as much time as it requires because I am trying to create a history to this artwork by developing its physical appearance as well as its mentality. It is very important, throughout this work, to give the wrong impression to the viewer, inducing him into thinking that this is a toy. In reality it’s not, the hyena will be portrayed as an important figure that looks like anything but a toy; there will be a butler standing behind the hyena waiting for his majesty to command. The only reason why the viewer will first think that the hyena is a toy is because of its cuteness and its neatness in production. It is most common in the art world that artworks must look messy or handmade to make it look cliché. For me it’s the opposite way, I find it challenging for me to produce an artwork that looks as neat as an industry product. It is very easy for me to work on the hyena in a very random uneven way in stitching, painting, and presenting but that will be very easy to do, and I will face no complications, and that’s not really what I am looking for. This activity made me believe that I may one day become a perfectionist. As I stated before this book only covers the first 4 months period of the process I went through. You’ll be expecting more books about this project because it may take a lot more time than I previously expected.

The Evolving Id

hello everyone,

I'm working on a book that supports my senior project. The book will be a documentation of my current project that i am still working on. "The Evolving Id"; the reason why i chose this title for my book is because the project i am working on is about morphing a sculptured horse into a hyena. And since the "Id" is the part of us that is unconscious and sometimes leads us to do terrible things, in my opinion i relate Id to animals because animals are uncontrollable, and as we know Hyenas symbolize immortality, the reversal of normal activities, they are well known for their dirty habits and many other negative traits. And for that i am creating a new nature for this dirty animal by changing a little in his form and covering him with velvet and other floral textile, he will then evolve into a well respected, cherished figure.

p.s.I will post the whole book when it's done.
More to come.

turning a Horse into a Hyena

Once upon a day i decided to turn a horse into Hyena. Not any Hyena, a semi-realistic Hyena from my own creation, manipulating its dirty habits and giving it a whole new purpose for existence.
Below are some photographs of the process of making this Hyena. This project is still unfinished, and as soon as i go further with the project i will be uploading the new stuff directly to the blog.
